Castlechurch Community Hub

We have recently opened a Community hub at school. It was officially opened by our chair of governors. The hub is a warm and welcoming place for our parents and wider community to meet. The local Spar shop sponsor the hub providing us with things so we can offer free hot drinks and snacks to our visitors. We run a variety of groups such as toddlers, craft club, cuppa club and offer free drinks and snacks. The local health visitor service and baby bank use us as a clinic and starts supporting our future intake right from birth.

From the hub we can refer people for help such as budgeting or to specialist support such as Women’s Aid or the church food bank located next to school on Milton Grove. We are a school that cares and our community is part of our school family. Our door is open and the hub is for you. Please see Mrs Cranwell if she can help you in any way!

Support from Mental Health Support Team (MHST)

Our school is supported by Claire Lynch from MHST. She regularly meets with Mrs Pearce, our Inclusion Leader. If you feel that your child would benefit from some support from Claire and her team please do not hesitate to email office.cas@cflptrust.co.uk. They will pass our your email on to her. She can meet with you in school or at the hub. If your child would benefit by talking to our trained teaching assistants please speak to the class teacher, who can arrange this for them. Alternatively we recommend childline.

Claire will be available to talk to at Parent Evenings and can provide parent support workshop for current concerns raised. Please contact us to enquire.

Support in the community

We can sign post you to help that you might need. There are well being groups in the hub and we can also sign post you to the wider community.

The Life Church Milton Grove, Highfields, Stafford

Life Church Milton Grove, has a community food grocery available. The food is amazing and costs just £5 for a variety of tasty items including veg, fruit, cereal, bread to soups and ready meals from local supermarkets. Just pop in. The contact is Ian Hancock and he is amazing. He will listen, talk, welcome and help you.

School puts out free food from The community Grocery (when surplus) after school on a Friday. Help yourself for free.

From time to time we all might need that bit of additional support-reach out! Its's good to talk. Andy's man club welcomes all men just call in to a meeting. Monday evening 7pm.

Fire service-Safe and Well

This service can support you at home with smoke alarms and general safety advice. Every home needs a smoke alarm. It could save your life.

Donations & Funding Updates.

Supporting The Royal British Legion

This year Castlechurch were honoured to be the host venue to launch the Royal British Legion poppy day appeal. This event was hosted by a Paul Milgate-Scarrott who is a member of our school family. We were very proud to be part of this special event.

Working with Tesco

We have been successful in our bid for a Tesco Community Grant Scheme for our Community Hub. We recently had £1000 awarded to us for our community hub. This helps us to keep our hub open and stocked with food and drinks for our community to enjoy. At Christmas we Carol sing at Tesco. We love to be part of our school community and make people smile.

We recently had a whole school cake sale. We raised a fantastic £177 for Macmillan. We are proud to support our community. The hub ran its own cake sale and donated to Breast Cancer support. Our amazing Volunteers ran this event.

We have chosen Children in Need as one of the charities we support.

We think about children that aren’t as lucky as we are and by wearing Pudsey clothes or pyjamas, we can help others. Children in need 2023 we raised over £180.

Harvest Festival

Each year we visit Castlechurch Church and as part of this we donated food to a local charity The House of Bread. We help Stafford people at a time where they are in need.

Stafford Life Church-Milton Grove

We work in partnership with the church, It is located next to school. The church has a wonderful community food larder and together with volunteers supports our parents and the wider area of the Church. They are a charitable voluntary organisation that provides food parcels via a voucher system to clients in distress. All visitors will be offered a warm welcome into a safe environment and a listening ear from a trained volunteer.

Ian Hancock leads the church and also a playgroup within the community hub. School has a food collection point and items collected go to the larder.

Out door classroom

We have recently built an outdoor classroom. It is called The Forest Lodge. Our PTPA have helped us with this exciting build. We can now do our Forest School work in the outdoor environment. Each class has a turn to learn outdoors. The outdoor classroom project saw our PTPA, community and school all working together to achieve something fantastic!

Christmas tree festival at St Marys Church and Christmas jumper day

We have supported the Christmas tree festival at the largest Church in Stafford. Our tree looked spectacular and the church raised lots of money to support local charities and charities across the World. Christmas jumper day for "Save the Children" helped us to consider children who may not be as lucky as we are.
